Introducing the Founder & CEO of Pneuma Nitric Oxide Company | Dr. Nathan S. Bryan

Today we (usainstants) interviewed Dr. Nathan S. Bryan. It was an amazing interview. Nathan Bryan told us that he has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Molecular and Cellular Physiology. He is the founder and CEO of a company (Pneuma Nitric Oxide). He believes in working hard.

Say something about yourself and your early life. What’s your educational qualification?

I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. I then enrolled at The LSU School of Medicine and received a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Molecular and Cellular Physiology. I then completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Biology at Boston University Medical Center. My entire education and research training has been focused on nitric oxide biochemistry and physiology.

Can you describe the mission and vision of your business?

Our objective is very clear. My company’s sole mission is to bring to market safe and effective nitric oxide product technologies in every major market segment around the world.

Was the year good for your company?

Yes, it has been a great year

How does your business stand on a different level in a current competitive market?

We have a very unique and differentiated product technology. Whereas there are many companies out there selling and marketing nitric oxide products, our product technology is unique in that it actually delivers bioactive nitric oxide gas. I was the first and still the only person to develop a solid dose form of a bioactive gas. This is important because if your body cannot produce nitric oxide gas then you need product technology that does it for you. That is what we do.

Other companies provide precursors to nitric oxide that typically are not able to be converted to nitric oxide in the body. That is the basis for people becoming nitric oxide deficient. We actually fix the underlying problem and provide objective, verifiable, quantifiable nitric oxide.  We have also created a topical nitric oxide serum that delivers bioactive nitric oxide gas to the skin to improve the signs of aging such as a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, improvement in the tone, texture and clarity of the skin.  We call our company “Pneuma” since its translation is “breath of life”  Nitric oxide is the breath of life.

How can employees and organizations build good teamwork and unity?

Everyone must buy into the mission of the company and have the same desire. This is very simple for our company because our technology truly has the potential to change the world. It is not difficult to get our people excited about changing the world and leaving a lasting legacy on humanity. There are very few occupations out there that have that capability. Our employees recognize the importance of what we do and everyone works together to achieve.

How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance as a business owner?

As a business owner, it is very difficult to maintain a work-life balance because your business becomes your life. It is difficult, if not impossible, to separate, especially if your business is your life’s work and passion.

What are the tips that you give to start-ups that want to follow a similar pathway?

Less than 1 in 10 start-ups succeed. You have to be dedicated, focused, persistent and committed to staying the course. Find a problem and provide a solution and build a team of like-minded people to help you succeed. The culture of the company is extremely important. I’ve seen and been involved in companies with toxic cultures and poor leadership with management of fear and intimidation. That does not work. Hire good people and let them flourish with your support, proper training and a belief in the mission of the company.
