Tina Turner or Anna Mae Bullock was a hardworking, talented, and well-known music artist in the United States of America. She was a great inspiration for all struggling singers from all over the world. Her passion for music helps her to win the hearts of millions of fans. The queen of rock ‘n’ roll was born on 26 November 1939 in Brownsville, Tennessee, United States. She started gaining huge public fame and popularity in the 1960s with her partner Ike. After the separation of her parents, Tina started residing with her maternal grandmother. She moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1957 where she put her feet in the music career at the age of 16 with the band Ike Turner named ‘Kings of Rhythm’ as little Ann. She performed her first record ‘ Boxtop ’ in the same year. She gained fame for the first time when she performed as a lead singer in the live duo, ‘ A Fool in Love’ with Ike Turner under the name of Tina Tuner.

How was Tina Turner’s married life?

Tina Turner married Ike in 1962 but she was not happy with him due to domestic assault Finally after years of Being in a toxic marriage, Tina gathered courage and decided to file for divorce from Ike. Tina succeeded in 1978 on the grounds of the abusive marriage and irreconcilable differences between the two. Ike Turner died in December 2007 due to a cocaine overdose.

 After the separation from Ike Turner, her powerful vocal, energy and passion for music forced her to continue as a singer so Tina decided to start her solo music career and released various solo albums such as Rough in 1978, Love Explosion in 1979 and ‘Private Dancer’ in 1984. She received  4 Grammys because of the massive love and support for private dancers and sold approximately 12 million copies of it. After private dancer, there was no going back for Tina, she kept on giving hints and won various awards throughout her life.

In 2013, Tina Turner married Erwin Bach, a music producer, after being in a lovely relationship for 27 years. They fell in love with each other even though there was a huge age difference between the two. When Tina was in dire need of a kidney, Erwin donated her his own.

She gave bundles of hit songs and some of them included The Best, What Love Got To Do With It, Nutbush City Limits, We Don’t Need Another Hero, I Don’t Wanna Lose You, The Best, I Can’t Stand the Rain, legs, its only love, acid queen, on silent wings, when the heartache is over, let’s stay together and rolling on the river, etc. 

Tina was the mother of four children Craig Raymond Turner, Ike Turner Jr., Michael Turner, and Ronnie. Turner Jr. and Michael were adopted whereas Craig and Ronnie were the biological children.

Craig was born in 1958 when she was only 18 years old and in a relationship with Raymond Hill, Craig died in 2018 from suicide in California, Tina tweeted and shared her grief after the suicide of Craig. Ronnie was born in 1960 with Ike Turner and died on 8 December 2018 from colon cancer. 

When Ike Turner married Tina Turner, he was already the father of 6 children and Tina decided to adopt two of his children. One of them was Michael who was the eldest son of Ike Turner and Lorraine Taylor and was not much interested in getting captured by the media and the other was IkE Turner Jr. who followed the footprints of his parents and decided to make a career in the music and also got Grammy award in 2016.  

Tina Turner’s death 

Tina Turner, the best-selling music artist, passed away at the age of 83 in Switzerland at her home on May 24, 2023, due to natural causes after a very long illness. The iconic musician was the warrior who fought high blood pressure for four decades since 1978. She has also suffered intestinal cancer which started in 2016 and in 2017 she had to undergo a kidney transplant due to consistent unmanaged high blood pressure issues. Tina was a great role model who achieved success independently of her talent and will. Indeed, she is no longer with us but her songs will always be alive in the hearts of millions of fans because of her unparalleled contribution to the music.
